Extraordinary was the first promotional single to be available from Prince’s 22nd full-length album The Vault... Old Friends 4 Sale.

It was released to radio two weeks prior to the album, in the USA only, with no commercial release and no artwork.

The song nevertheless reached number 23 on the US Billboard Adult R&B Songs Chart, and number 4 on the Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart.
