The Rest Of My Life was the second promotional single to be available from Prince’s 22nd full-length album The Vault... Old Friends 4 Sale (but the first promotional single in the only territory in which it was available).

It was released to radio around the same time as the album, in Japan only, with no commercial release.

The second track, Extraordinary, was also taken from the album.

As a promotional release only, the single was not eligible to enter the charts.
