Diamonds And Pearls / Nothing Compares 2 U (Live At Glam Slam) is a posthumously-released single, given to all attendees of Paisley Park Studios’ 2022 Prince Celebration, taking place 2-5 June 2022. The single release is in conjunction with a big-screen showing of Prince and the New Power Generation’s performance at Prince’s Minneapolis nightclub Glam Slam from 11 January 1992, with live accompaniment by members of the band and other iterations of the New Power Generation.
The single was announced on 23 May 2022 and was not available more widely for purchase/streaming. At that time, it was rumored that the Diamonds And Pearls (Super) Deluxe Edition (tentatively planned to be titled Diamonds & Love) was going to be released later this year. The box-set would only finally be released the following year with the full performance at the Glam Slam on audio and Blu-ray.
The single uses the same typography as other singles from the album’s 1992 release including the Paisley Park Records label.
