Can’t Make U Love Me (spelled I Can’t Make You Love Me) was the fourth and final promotional single to be released from Prince’s 19th album Emancipation, the third album credited to .
It was released around the same time as Face Down (with the same artwork), in the USA only, with no commercial release. The single contained a radio edit of the song which was not available elsewhere. The album version was included on the 12" promo for Face Down.
The single did not enter the charts.
At the time of the single’s promotional release, the division of EMI Records that handled the promotion of Emancipation was shut down as part of a restructuring of the whole entertainment conglomerate, and promotion of the album ceased as a result.
