Prince’s involvement was uncertain at the time, but Prince recorded this song (as Trouble) on 24 May 1992 at Larrabee Sound Studios, North Hollywood, California. It was rerecorded on 13 August 1992 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, on the same day as I Want U.

It is not known if, but likely that the song was intended for the planned Concrete Jungle album. A 1:15 sample of the track (as Trouble (Never Give Up)) was included in 2000 as the fifth track on the Man‘O’War (Remix) NPG Records Sampler unreleased cassette (intended for promotional use only).

Prince’s version was released as one of the songs on the Diamonds And Pearls Super Deluxe in 2023.
