Gayngs’s video for their song The Last Prom On Earth is one of a kind in Prince’s videography and is referenced here for the sake of completeness. He did not participate directly or indirectly in this song and never collaborated with this band of which some of the 22 members are from Minneapolis. According to reports, he went to see their performance (on 14 May 2010) with his guitar at the First Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota after hearing about them on the radio. His presence near the stage is noticed, photographed and filmed. The members of the group even came to greet him but he did not go on stage. He reportedly said something to the effect of "Looks like they’ve got it under control".
Footage of him enjoying the show was included in the video which was released 6 months later. Prince being very concerned about the use of his image, did not object and did not have the video removed. This indicates that there has been (at least) a passive agreement for this use.
