Whistlin’ Kenny, by Margie Cox, was released as the b-side of the single Standing At The Altar (only on promotional 12" and cassette in the USA), from the album 1-800 New Funk (a compilation of mostly-unreleased music largely written and produced by Prince/SymbolSmallerBlue.png, recorded by other Paisley Park Records artists).

It was not included on the European commercial release of the single. The song was written by Prince (credited as such, even though it was released while he used the name SymbolSmallerBlue.png).

Basic tracking took place in late July 1989 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. It was intended for use by Flash / MC Flash (both band names were used), and Margie Cox added her vocals on 28 July 1989 (on the same day as adding vocals to Bed Of Roses), also at Paisley Park Studios. The track was included as the sixth track on the Flash album, which was ultimately abandoned.
