Boom Box is an unreleased track recorded on 28 September 1991, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (the day after Gett Off’s Cousin, two days before Letter 4 Miles). The track was planned with the artist credit "Brass Monkey", which Eric Leeds described as a "Madhouse-kind-of-project". As with most of Madhouse’s work, the track was written, produced and performed by Prince, with Eric Leeds playing saxophone.
The song uses backing music from Martika’s Kitchen, a repeated sample of Martika saying "boom box", lifted from Martika’s Kitchen and features a drum beat also used on Get Some Solo (recorded around the same time) as well as a sample of the drum intro of James Brown’s Funky President (People It’s Bad). Most of these elements are lifted from the Alt. Dub Version of Martika’s Kitchen. Boom Box is otherwise an instrumental in the same way Baby Doll House, recorded exactly five years previously to the day, contained a repeated female sample saying "baby doll house".
This is the only track known to have been recorded for this project. Boom Box remains unreleased.
