Get Some Solo is the fifth track on the maxi-single of Cream, the second single from Prince’s 13th album Diamonds And Pearls (the first album to be credited to Prince and the New Power Generation).

Specific recording dates are unknown, but it is likely that recording took place in September-October 1991 (along with Cream (N.P.G. Mix), Things Have Gotta Change (Tony M. Rap), 2 The Wire (Creamy Instrumental), Do Your Dance, Housebangers, Q In Doubt and Ethereal Mix). The song uses a sample of a moan from Indeep’s 1982 song When Boys Talk also found in My Name Is Prince (recorded 18 September 1991, indicating that the recording of this track was around the same time). But as this sample is taken from elsewhere, the use in My Name Is Prince should not be considered a sample of this track.
