  • Horny Pony is printed on the tracklist on the Diamonds And Pearls album’s back cover, overlaid with "Gett Off", which replaced it.
  • The theme that previews each verse is very similar to a theme heard in Sly And The Family Stone’s track In Time, which has been played live by Prince.
  • Other tracks from the era mentioning a pony in the title or lyrics include Alphabet St., Le Grind, My Pony, Ponyride and She Pony.
  • Introductory lyrics refer to the song as ‘new dance commercial - take one’, and a distinctive dance accompanied the song’s live performance in 1991.
