If You See Me was previously released by Pepé Willie on the collection Symbolic Beginning in 1995. Stone Lover and Got To Be Something Here were released in the Twin Cities area in 1979 as a single (for Stone Lover) or in The Lewis Connection eponymous album. This compilation is the only release to contain the full unedited version of Stone Lover. Recorded between late 1975 and late 1976, these songs are among of the earliest-recorded sessions featuring Prince to have been released. Although Purple Snow: Forecasting the Minneapolis Sound contains, sometimes previously unreleased, early songs by Mind & Matter (with Jimmy Jam), Flyte Time (with most of the members of The Time), Alexander O’Neal, Sue Ann Carwell and André Cymone, there is no song representing Prince’s band Grand Central or his solo work from this era.
