When U Love Somebody is the fourth track on the New Power Generation's third and final 'solo' album Newpower Soul.
While specific recording dates are now known, initial tracking took place in late August 1997, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA.
The recording features horns by both The Hornheadz as Pierre André-Baptiste, Wayne DuMain, and Clark Gayton, the horn section from a New York Prince cover band, named Days Of Wild. Prince had both do horn arrangements on different occasions and used both mixed together on the finished track. The Hornheadz are not credited for their horns on this track, but Michael B. Nelson confirmed it's both them and the Days Of Wild horn players on the released track.
