Somewhere Here On Earth is a Prince video released for broadcast with no corresponding single (although it was included as the 'b-side' on the Guitar single released in Europe).
Between two dates of the 21 Nights residency in London, Prince and parts of his entourage flew to the Czech Republic for to shoot this video (directed by Phil Griffin) and pictures (with Randee St. Nicolas). Some of the pictures taken there ended up on the 21 Nights.Shooting took place in various locations in Prague, Czech Republic over two nights : on the Charles Bridge on 3 September 2007 (starting at 2:45 a.m.) and the following night at the Schwarzenberg Palace (finishing at 3:00 a.m. the next day).
The video has a simple plot: Prince wandering on the Charles Bridge and his bedroom at the Schwarzenberg Palace thinking of his love interest (portrayed by Italian actress Manuela Arcuri. Its smooth, delicate and luxurious cinematography, contrasts with the hastily made video for Chelsea Rodgers posted just four days earlier.
Two versions were created: an edited one (4:29) and the album version (5:46). The latter contains additional scenes with a trumpet player and some nice shots of Prince playing piano at the palace. The full music video premiered on the BET Channel in February 2008.
