Ain’t No Way is an unreleased cover version of the song by Aretha Franklin (written by Carolyn Franklin, from her 1968 album Lady Soul).
Prince’s live performances of the song, the studio version was recorded in 1989, at Paisley Park Studios (Studio B), Chanhassen, MN, USA. Despite several live performances of the song in the 1990s, a studio recording by Prince was not known to exist until it was played to attendees at the posthumous Celebration event held at Paisley Park Studios in June 2025; unlike the live performances with lead vocals by Rosie Gaines, the studio version features lead falsetto vocals by Prince.
The other tracks played for VIP attendees of the Celebration event held at Paisley Park Studios in June 2025 are an untitled instrumental Jam, Free (Acoustic version), Shade Of Umber, Beatown, Call Of The Wild, an alternate version of The Question Of U from 1986, Love Never Has 2 Say Goodbye, Turn Me Loose (Instrumental mix), A Couple Miles and The Ladder (Rehearsal from dec. 1984).
