My Name Is Prince was the second single from Prince’s 14th album  , the second album to be credited to Prince and the New Power Generation. It was released two weeks before the album, and received a release around the world.
The b-side on the US version of the single was Sexy Mutha, a remix of Sexy M.F. The b-side in the rest of the world, 2 Whom It May Concern, is a studio track which could be considered a medley commercial for the album , containing samples of most of the album’s tracks. Other non-album tracks on the maxi-single included remixes of My Name Is Prince and Sexy M.F. remixed by outside producers.
The single reached number 36 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and number 25 on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles Chart.
