Crimson And Clover is a Prince video released through his Lotusflow3r.com website (on the same day as Chocolate Box and Bria Valente’s Everytime).
The video, filmed in a green screen studio at the Source Studio in Los Angeles, California in early March 2009, was premiered on 24 March 2009, the same day as the launch of Prince’s website: Lotusflow3r.com. It was streamed on the website in the Lotusflow3r section, a futuristic scene featuring a smoke surrounded sphere crowned by lotus flower petals, topped by flame effects evolving around a ray of light that appeared to fade upwards into purple skies. On the left side were two pyramids, on which one had to click to access the Crimson And Clover video.
The video shows Prince singing and playing guitar in a psychedelic scenery involving two dancers (Lala Escarzega and ballet dancer Misty Copeland). Images of Prince and both dancers are interlaced and superimposed to make him appear in the shadow of the dancers.
