2 Y. 2 D. (short for 2 Young 2 Dare) is a song recorded in early-to-mid 2011, most likely at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. While the original version was a horn-driven funk version, Prince and 3rdEyeGirl re-recorded the track in early 2013. This version was later described by Prince as "slinky rock". The original studio version of the track was played by DJ Rashida prior to Prince's DJ set on 19 January, 2013, Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant, Minneapolis, MN, USA (along with The Breakdown). In December, 2015, Prince announced on Twitter that 2 Y. 2 D. was included on the planned album Hitnrun Phase Two. As expected it is the original version that appears on the album.
