3 Nigs Watchin’ A Kung Fu Movie is an unreleased instrumental recorded in January or February 1987, at Prince’s Galpin Blvd Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The track was recorded by Prince and Sheila E., who named the track (in the same vein as 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton, recorded shortly before, in December 1986).

It was included as the first track on a 1989 configuration of a proposed fourth album by Sheila E., but the album was abandoned when Sheila E. left Prince’s band and Paisley Park Records in early 1989. During Prince: A Celebration in June 2000, computer screens at Paisley Park Studios offered names of a selection of tracks which users could vote on for inclusion on Crystal Ball Volume II, and while 3 Nigs Watchin’ A Kung Fu Movie was chosen by fans, the project was ultimately abandoned. Thus, although it is listed here with two different artist credits (Sheila E. and Prince) the recording is thought to be the same instrumental.
