He also shares writing credit with Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal and Tom Dumont, three members of the group.
Sessions and compiling
After Gwen Stefani’s contribution to So Far, So Pleased, No Doubt sent their original version of Waiting Room, planned for their next album Return To Saturn. He heavily revised the track and he also appears on keyboards and background vocals (resulting in his writing co-credit) before returning it to them. The result was of such a different sound to the rest of the album that the band held it back to use on their following album, Rock Steady.
Promotion
The album produced four singles, Hey Baby, Hella Good, Underneath It All and Running, and was a huge commercial success. It reached number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 200, and was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 45th Grammy Awards (where it lost to Come Away With Me by Norah Jones).
