Am I Without U? is an unreleased track recorded in the second half of 1988 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
It was included as the sixth track on a mid-January configuration of the album Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic, which was abandoned when Prince began work on the Batman album a few weeks later.
In Summer 1989, Prince pulled out the track at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, for use on the proposed second album by Jill Jones (along with Boom, Boom (Can’t U Feel The Beat Of My Heart), My Baby Knows and Flesh And Blood), but it is not clear if additional work took place on the track at this point, or if Jill Jones recorded vocals, so this information is not included below.
The track remains unreleased.
