Big Fun is the fifteenth track (seventh song) on the New Power Generation’s second 'solo' album Exodus.
While specific recording dates are now known, basic tracking took place between December 1994 - early January 1995, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (during the same set of sessions as The Good Life, Return Of The Bump Squad and Cherry, Cherry). Eric Leeds recorded saxophone and flute overdubs on 16 January 1995, also at Paisley Park Studios (on the same day as recording horn overdubs on Good Pussy, I’m A DJ and Return Of The Bump Squad).
The song contains repeated vocal samples of "big Fun" from Ninety-9’s track Three Shots (containing input by Prince) - it is unknown if this sample was added immediately or at a later date.
Music from Big Fun was later reused on Poom Poom. Some lyrics from the track were also reused on Newpower Soul.
