Cold Chill (Prince Version) is a remix by Prince of Cold Chill (from Stevie Wonder’s 24th studio album Conversation Peace), included as the 35th track on Remixes, a compilation of remixes of tracks by Stevie Wonder, ranging from 1979-2005 and available only as part of an iTunes exclusive "digital box set" The Complete Stevie Wonder (which also included a pre-release of Wonder’s album A Time To Love).
While specific recording dates are not known, it is likely that the track was originally recorded in 1993 at Wonderland Studios in Los Angeles, California, without any input by Prince.
Prince (then ) recorded a guitar part for the track, most likely in 1994 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. His contribution on the initial version was not kept for the versions that were released (on the album and the single). His remix of the track, probably recorded at the same time in 1994, was also not included on the single released in Europe in 1995.
The original version of Cold Chill with Prince’s additional contribution remains unreleased.
