Hair is the 13th track (twelfth song) on Chaka Khan’s tenth solo studio album Come 2 My House; the song is a cover of the Graham Central Station song from their 1973 album Graham Central Station, and was written by Larry Graham. Prince (as SymbolSmallerBlue.png) performed the song regularly from 1994-6 in a medley with Days Of Wild, even writing a rap which served as a transition between the two tracks. Hair was also quoted in The Exodus Has Begun, which uses the line "And when the people ask you everywhere / 'Is that really all your hair?'/ Tell'em you don't tell a lie / Bald-headed son of a motherfuckin' housefly".

The version included on Come 2 My House was produced by Chaka Khan and Prince (as SymbolSmallerBlue.png), and did not feature Larry Graham, despite his presence elsewhere on the album.

While specific recording dates for Chaka Khan’s version are not known, basic tracking took place between November 1997, and January 1998, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Horn overdubs took place between early December 1997, and early February 1998, also at Paisley Park Studios. It was included as the tenth track on a February 1998, configuration of Come 2 My House, before the tracklist was revised for the final release.
