Kirk J’s B Sides Remix was released as the b-side of the stand-alone single Purple Medley, released in March, 1995 to coincide with The Ultimate Live Experience tour in Europe. The track is a medley of five previously-released songs, Pop Life, When Doves Cry, Shockadelica, Head and a remix of The Continental later released in full as Tell Me How U Wanna B Done, all remixed by Kirk Johnson with no new input by Prince. Despite the title, only one of the tracks included, Shockadelica, had previously been released as a b-side. While specific remix dates are not known, each track included was remixed as a full track (see individual tracks for details), and edited together by Steve Durkee, most likely in late 1994 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA.
