Love And Sex is a track recorded on 3 January 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California. The mid-tempo song is driven by searing guitar and a whimsical stacato synth, with multitracked vocals, with Prince pasiontely delivering his plea to an unnamed objext ofbhis effection.

On 25 March 1986, three months after the initial tracking it was reworked for possible inclusion on Sheila E.'s third album Sheila E.. The song was sped up and Sheila E. added her vocals and congas on it. Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss also adding horns at this time.
