Overview & History

Mobile Audio Remote Recording is a mobile recording facility for rent that was utilized by Prince on various locations in 1984 and 1985. This 45-feet air-ride trailer, had a 20' x 8'3" control room and a 15' x 8'3" lounge. It was based out of Rome, Georgia and owned by Rick Norvell.


Studio

The truck was equipped with a Sound Workshop Series 34 balanced 36 in x 24 console. It has two Otan MTR-90 II 24-track recorders, an Otan MTR-10 4-track, and Otan MTR-12 2 track recorder, as well as a Sony TCFX 1010 cassette deck. It had Hatter DH500s and DH220s power amps, Lexicon 200 digital reverb, Valley People 430 Stereo Dyna-Mites and 431 Dyna-Mite/Dyne-Mike combo, dbx 160 limiters, Audioarts 4200A stereo parametric EQ. Valley People HH 2 x 2 units. Its monitors were Fostex LS3B, Electro-Voice 1COA and Auratone 5C. Furthermore it had a Panasonic 3400 color camera and three Panasonic BTS 1900 color monitors, BTX Softouch synchronizer, Cypher, and Generator/Reader, patch bay for any additional outboard gear was upon request. It also came with 300 h. video snake, 450 ft. 42 pair audio snake.
