Prince And The Band is an unreleased song which has been played live by Prince occasionally during concerts from 2002 to 2012 (from 2007 onward, it was usually sung following Musicology, with the same backing music). At least two studio recordings exist. It is likely that the first studio recording was made in May 2002 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (during a break in the One Nite Alone... Tour). A tape box photographed in Prince’s vault at Paisley Park Studios has the title with a date of 13 August 2006. This is thought to be a new, updated recording of the song that was played over the PA at afterparties on the 21 Nights In London : The Earth Tour residency in 2007.

In 2002-4 performances of the song, Prince would use the line "Warner Bros. used to be a friend of mine / now they’re just a monumental waste of time"; in later performances, he would change the first part of the line to "record labels used to be a friend of mine".
