The Halls Of Desire was the fifth single to be released from Tevin Campbell’s second album I’m Ready. It was released as a maxi-single in Japan (under the title The Halls Of Desire EP) and Australia. It was also available in Germany as a promotional single. It was released ten months after the album.
The EP contained various remixes of the song The Halls Of Desire, which featured Prince as a writer, producer and performer. It also contained remixes of I’m Ready and Always In My Heart, also taken from the album, which featured no input by Prince.
The single did not chart.
Some remixes included on the Australian edition of the maxi-single (the Commercial 12" Mix, Album Remix Maste' and Edited 7" Master mixes) were not released in other countries.
Other remixes of the song The Halls Of Desire were included on Don’t Say Goodbye Girl, which was released in the US two months after this single was released in Japan.
Most of these versions were compiled in 2022 for a digital release (under the title The Halls Of Desire (Remixes) with the artwork of The Halls Of Desire EP).
