It was released a month prior to the album, and was released commercially only in the UK, Germany and Japan, while in the USA it was only available as a promotional release.

A few days prior to the single’s release, on 7 June 1996, Warner Bros. streamed the song in RealAudio format on a special website dedicated to Chaos And Disorder, www.wbr.com/chaosanddisorder, the first time a Prince track had premiered officially online.

The single reached number 36 on the UK Gallup Singles Chart but failed to chart in the USA.
