He’s So Dull was the first single to be released from Vanity 6’s first and only album Vanity 6. It was released four weeks prior to the album, in the USA. In January 1983, it was re-released in The Netherlands and for the first time in the UK. The b-side, Make-Up, was also taken from the album Vanity 6. The single features Prince as a musician on the a-side, but the track was written by Dez Dickerson. Prince wrote and appeared on Make-Up and Wet Dream (which was included on the UK 12" single).
The single did not enter the charts.
