He’s So Dull was the third single to be released from Vanity 6’s first and only album Vanity 6. It was released five months after the album, and received a release in the USA, the UK and Europe. The b-side, Make-Up, was also taken from the album Vanity 6. The single features Prince as a musician on the a-side, but the track was written by Dez Dickerson. Prince wrote and appeared on Make-Up and Wet Dream (which was included on the UK 12" single).
