Streetwalker is track recorded on 6 July 1990 at Metropolis in London, England (on the same day as My Tender Heart and Pain), while on the Nude Tour. The song was originally intended for Rosie Gaines’ first solo album. Prince first recorded his on lead on it, before he had Rosie Gaines record hers. The lyrics were written by Rosie Gaines in 1989, and the song may have been previously recorded without Prince’s input. The groove on the 1990 version is essentially the same as the on the jam part of Baby I’m A Star as played on the Nude Tour.
