Prince recorded vocal overdubs on 25 September 1988, also at Paisley Park Studios (during two days off from the Lovesexy Tour, on the same day as recording overdubs on Billie Holiday and compiling an early configuration of the Graffiti Bridge album, four days before recording Come Back 2 Me). It was mixed on 28 September 1988. Prince worked on the track further on 7 August 1992.
