Toy Box is the fourth track on Sheila E.’s second album Romance 1600. In 1986, the track was included as the b-side of the single Holly Rock.

Basic tracking took place on 4 January 1985 (a.m.)at Master Sound, Atlanta, Georgia, following a Purple Rain Tour show in Atlanta the evening before.

The song title is mentioned in Holly Rock recorded in April 1985, and was at some point planned as the title of Sheila E.’s album that became Romance 1600.
