U Move Me is the third track on Graham Central Station’s eighth studio album GCS 2000, and, shortly before the album’s release, U Move Me was available as the album’s only promotional single (with no commercial release). The song was written by Larry Graham, and produced by Larry Graham and Prince (as ), who also appears as a musician.

While specific recording dates are not known, basic tracking took place between November 1997, and January 1998, at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. A video was recorded for the track featuring Prince (as ) and Kirk Johnson on 8 July 1998, but the video was left unreleased; see U Move Me for details.
