Automatic is a Prince video released for broadcast and to promote the single. Like Sexuality this video doesn’t correspond to a single release in the USA. Automatic was released in Australia only.

This video was shot at the Minneapolis Armory, Minneapolis, Minnesota, during the last week of rehearsals for the 1999 Tour together with videos for 1999 and Let’s Pretend We’re Married. All of them were directed by Bruce Gowers, who also directed Controversy and Sexuality the previous year.

Automatic is about eight minures long and concludes with a bondage scene with Prince, Lisa Coleman and Jill Jones.
