Jerk Out is the sixth video by The Time released for broadcast and to promote the single. Exact shooting date is unknown but it was likely shot in Spring 1990 in various location in Los Angeles, California, including the Palomino Club. Jerk Out was directed by Julien Temple with a reported budget of over $500,000. The video features cameo appearances by Quincy Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard and a Jack Nicholson look-alike wearing a Batman t-shirt.
The video shows Morris Day and The Time going to different parties, sowing a little discord before seducing some females and leaving the place with them. These girls are quickly abandoned however and are shown disappointed by Morris and the group’s attitudes. The video ends with the message "Coming to your club soon" and Day’s charateristic laugh.
The version the song is an edit created specifically for the video and was not released on an audio only format.
