We Gon’ Make It Funky, credited to Maceo Parker and Prince, was released as an mp3 and mov video download with the tenth edition of the 2001 NPG Music Club (available five days after the bulk of the content, on the same day as Live 4 Love (Live), The Undertaker (Live) and the Love Sign video).

The released version was recorded live during Maceo Parker's set on 13 June, 2001 (a.m.) at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA, and on which Prince made a surprise appearance playing guitar. Only the final section featuring Prince was released. It is unknown if a studio recording of the song featuring Prince exists.

Although Parker has appeared on many of Prince's tracks, this song is the only time a performance credit has been given to "Maceo Parker & Prince".
