We Live (2 Get Funky) is an unreleased track played by Prince live on 27 June 2011, Le Grand Journal, Studios Rive Gauche, Paris, France, broadcast live on TV and online (although first played live three days earlier, 24 June 2011, Métropolis, Montreal, QC, Canada).
It is assumed a studio version exists, but this has not been confirmed, and the title is tentative until confirmed. It is not known if this track is intended for any particular project; more information will be added to this entry as and when it becomes available.
The track primarily acts as an introduction to each band member (playing a similar role to The Jam, often played live). The main riff of the song is seems directly lifted from the one in Redhead Stepchild, which in turn is dutiable to American Woman by The Guess Who.
The live rendition at least also has the guitar solo progression first used in Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic & The Max.
