Wedding Feast is the tenth track on Prince’s 24th album The Rainbow Children, his first album after reverting to the name Prince.
Specific recording dates are unknown, but it is likely that basic tracking took place in late 2000 or early 2001 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The track acts mainly as an interlude ; the lyrics continue the album’s story of preparing for a wedding between "The Wise One" and "The Muse". The track is short and created as a humorous opera pastiche (not too far removed from Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are from 1939 film The Wizard Of Oz), with some vocals by Kip Blackshire. Prince laughs at the end of the track, indicating it was not intended as a serious piece.
