When U Love Somebody is the fourth track on the New Power Generation's third and final 'solo' album Newpower Soul.
While specific recording dates are now known, initial tracking took place in late August, 1997, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. The recording features horns by Pierre André-Baptiste, Wayne DuMain, and Clark Gayton, the horn section from a New York Prince cover band, titled Days Of Wild. This is the first time Prince has been known to record with anyone from a Prince cover band.
