Promotion (at time of release) Triva
  • The Gett Off video was played heavily, and drew a lot of controversy. The resulting media coverage only drew more interest to the song and single.
  • Prince and the New Power Generation made their first TV performance playing Gett Off live on the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards, in a set similar to the Gett Off video. This again drew controversy, due to the sexual nature of the images, and Prince’s costume, which was open at the rear to show his bare buttocks.
