Duet with Dad is a recording a of a loose studio jam, recorded on 9 February 1986 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California, with Prince’s father John L. Nelson .

It is unknown if the recording session was intended to produce material for release, or simply a personal family time. It is also unclear if only one song was recorded, or more than one, but no other track names are known. It’s possible that John L. Nelson’s co-writing credit on Scandalous stems from a melodic idea from this recording session, but this is speculative.
