Bambi is the sixth track on Prince's second album Prince, and, eleven months after the album's release, Bambi was released as the album's fifth worldwide single, only available in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Earlier in 1980, the track was released as as the b-side of some versions of Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?, the album's second single (released in the USA and New Zealand).

Two months later it was included as the b-side of Still Waiting, the album's third single (released in the USA and New Zealand). The following month it was released as the b-side of Sexy Dancer, the album's fourth single, only on the UK release.
