Gett Off is a Prince and the New Power Generation video released for broadcast and to promote the single.

Gett Off was directed by Randee St. Nicholas (her first), who would work as a director or photographer for Prince and his associates on and off until 2015. The audio is a different edit of the song Gett Off not included on the different single releases. Shooting took place in late July 1991 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, Minnesota. The video was inspired by the 1979 film Caligula. The production of this clip (especially with the creation of the set and the extras) costed $1.3 million, which was more than initially planned. This financial slippage led to a legal and financial dispute between young producer Robert Borm and Paisley Park Enterprises. Borm’s company, Point Of View films, also produced other clips which were incorporated into the home video and the Diamonds And Pearls Video Collection, but was declared bankrupt due to the exorbitant costs of these and the lack of sufficient payment from Paisley Park.

The video was ’recreated' when Prince performed the song live on the Diamonds And Pearls Tour with the same choreography and costume. The orgiastic theme was recreated when he performed the song at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards on 05 September 1991.

Of note, this is the first appearance of Tommy Barbarella, Sonny T., Lori Elle (Werner) (Diamond) and Robia LaMorte (Pearl) in a Prince video. Lori Elle (Werner) and Robia LaMorte were probably noticed by Prince when they appeared on Kahoru Kohiruimaki’s video for Dreamer (included on her album Time The Motion).

The video was included on the Gett Off home video and the Diamonds And Pearls Video Collection.
