Drive Me Wild was the fourth and final single to be released from Vanity 6’s first and only album Vanity 6. It was released around seven months after the album, and received a release in the USA only.
The a-side was an edit of the 12" version, and was not the same as the album version. The b-side, 3 x 2 = 6, was also an edited version of a song from theVanity 6 album.
The 12" single contained an extended version of Drive Me Wild, not available elsewhere, as well as Bite The Beat, also taken from the album. Prince wrote, produced and largely performed all tracks, although his participation is uncredited.
The single did not enter the charts.
