- First appeared on: The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Karl Bohm 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
- Also known as: Thus Spoke Zarathustra; commonly referred to as 2001 due to its use in and heavy association with Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey; Symphonic poem (1896). In 1973 Brazilian artist Eumir Deodato: released a jazz-funk version of the song (as: Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)) on his 1973 album Prelude. It is not unlikely Prince's interpolation referred to that version rather than the original.
