Dark is the seventh track on Prince's fifteenth album Come. In 1993, Dark was included in the Glam Slam Ulysses stage-show, during the segment titled "Penelope" (credited, as was the whole project, to ).
In 1998, a remixed version, titled So Dark, was included as the eighth track on the first disc of Prince's 20th album Crystal Ball (his fourth using the name ).
On 18 October, 2012 a 4:18 rehearsal version of Dark by Prince and the New Power Generation was streamed on Andy Allo Facebook Page.
On 7 January, 2014, a live video of So Dark from 05 October, 2013, Paisley Park, Chanhassen, MN, USA was put on 3rdEyeGirl YouTube account.
Initial tracking took place on 2 January, 1993 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (during the same one-day session that produced Come, Dolphin and Endorphinmachine).
It was included as the ninth track on a 11 March, 1994 configuration of the Come album. The album version begins with a segment of Poem which was edited out when the track became Orgasm (Pheromone, Race and Letitgo include other segments in their opening seconds).
Recording/remixing dates for So Dark are not known, but it is likely remixed in early-mid 1994 at Paisley Park Studios.
