Dear Uncle George is an unreleased song believed to have been recorded in early-to-mid 1981 at Prince’s Kiowa Trail Home Studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The song’s music was re-used (although possibly re-recorded) with new lyrics to become the track Private Joy (recorded in August 1981). It is not known if the track was intended for Prince’s next album (which became Controversy) before being given new lyrics. The song remains unreleased.
