Don’t Say U Love Me is the tenth track on Martika’s second album Martika’s Kitchen. In 1997, it was included as the eleventh track on the compilation album The Best Of Martika: More Than You Know. In 2005, it was included as the fifth track on the compilation album Toy Soldiers: The Best Of Martika.
Although specific recording dates are unknown, basic tracking took place in December 1990 or early 1991 at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota (during the same set of sessions as Martika’s Kitchen, Spirit and Open Book and Go On (Witcha Bad Self)). In Spring 1991, Martika overdubbed her lead vocals and her musicians and vocalists added overdubs to the track, in New York and Los Angeles.
